I'm warming up my life with a new read.

You won't believe me when I tell you this. We have lived here since the end of July and yesterday was the very first time that I entered a bookstore of any kind in this town. It takes great restraint! They are all around me, some within a mile from my apartment.

I have told myself that I need to catch up on all of the reading that I have to do before I purchase any more books. I have been reading, not buying!

I drove past a Lifeway store yesterday which I have driven by many times, but yesterday I felt a nudge. I tried to ignore it, but it lingered. I knew that I was supposed to "do a legal u-turn" as my gps would say and take myself back to the bookstore.

Once inside I wandered the isles forever . . . picked up a half dozen things, returned them to their shelves . . . finally, I whispered prayer, "Lord, why am I here?"

Two minutes later I spotted this:

I don't know how to describe to you what I felt when I picked up this book. I knew that it was the reason for my u-turn. It is what I need in my life right now that will help me make some spiritual u-turns.

 "10 Weeks of Devotional Prayer" . . .

 Our meeting place.

My favorite quote from this morning . . . one of many that I could share . . .

"Remember, the only thing whiter than snow is a freshly cleansed child of God." (Psalm 51:7) Beth Moore

Lovely!

Perhaps you would like to join me on this prayer journey? With you arm in arm! Would love to hear your thoughts!

"In everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

CHERI!!!!...I bought that a couple of weeks ago!!!!! I have to be honest, I haven't allowed myself to open the pages yet. I was thinking of saving it to start the New Year as I have 4 Bible Studies on the go currently and writing daily on my blog. The thought of adding something else at this moment seems too much. Now I want to start it with you!!! :-)

I also am trying to read the books I've purchased (or at least borrowing any new 'have to reads' from the library) before buying more.

I love how we share so many similarities. Yep...sisters in the Lord.

Hugs, love and prayers,
Joy

Thanks so much for connecting and for visiting my site. What a sweet surprise! I'm so glad I stopped by. I bookmarked your site. You reminded me that I have a Lifeway gift card and forgot about it. Gotta get over there! Isn't it great when we follow those Spirit nudges? Blessings to you, dear one!

YAY, Joy! I would love to share it with you! I started it this morning.

A friend of mine sent me three books yesterday! One of them was one of her masterpieces! I have placed those three on the top of my pile. I can't wait to begin! The Lord is so good to provide! It is one of those tight seasons for us.

:)

Your sister, with love,
Cheri

Do you know Laura Bogess, Joy? I met her at She Speaks several years ago. She is a sweetheart! She sent me several gifts. It is a long story and I am thinking about writing about it because it is so amazing! The books she sent are Derek's Story by Laura J. Bogess, Grace for the Good Girl by Emily p. Freeman (which I had once upon a time but gave it away to a friend before I read it), and When Mockingbirds Sing by Billy Coffey. It was like Christmas when I opened her sweet gift!
I am humbled by His sweetness! The greatest gift of all is having wonderful eternal friendships!

Much love,
Cheri

Yes, I know Laura, and she sent me two of her books years ago! I haven't connected with her since returning to the "blog world". Please say hi to her for me. :-) Does she still blog?

How lovely and kind of her...but it makes perfect sense...you're both so sweet.
Blessings,
Joy

Really? That is so cool! She does still blog. The Wellspring is the name of it. Small world, isn't it?
